about us
Major Voices is a male choir established in 2012 in the township of Khayelitsha, Cape Town, South Africa.
We have the mission and vision to use music to empower and motivate our community against crime, unemployment, and drugs. Living in an underprivileged environment, we wanted to initiate change with the power of our voices. We are mostly known for performing Isicathamiya (traditional African a cappella mixed with dance) but we perform a wide range of genres such as a cappella, afro pop, jazz, gospel and more.
We inspire and entertain kids, locals and travellers and perform at any kind of events (weddings, anniversaries, dinners, graduations, funeral services etc.). We are extremely flexible and can work according to your needs and budget.

Unicity
Major Voices is much more than beautiful voices. All of our songs are accompanied by dynamic choreographies that we create all together, with just enough of djembe to add extra rhythm. It also becomes a very human and learning experience when we interact with our audience and include them in our performances. We create a vocal and visual piece of art mixing African culture and modernity in a performance that will leave you speechless, and that you will forever remember.
FLEXIBILITY
When you work with Major Voices you are able to express your will and your needs with no restrictions. We like to do everything we can to make your special day memorable and your wish come true. We work with what you give us, our talent doesn’t require any specific environment or equipment and our diverse experience makes us suitable for any event and budget. We can sing different genres and can use our talent to sing your favorite song and make it a Major Voices masterpiece.
COMMUNITY
Life in Khayelitsha isn’t easy. Our main goal is to give back to our community and improve its quality of life. We want to give them more opportunities and show the youth how and avoid crime by opening a center to teach them about music and art and creating a football club, allowing them to fully live their passion far away from crime. We want to open a soup kitchen so that everyone can eat when they are hungry. We need people to support our career so that we can create a better environment for our community.
